Pioneer Weightlifting Belt Sizing
Weightlifting/Power Lifting Belts are worn well above where you wear your shorts or pants, this means they are worn above the hip bones.
Your pant size is NOT your weight belt size.
To measure for the correct size, use a pliable measuring tape or seamstress tape. Measure around your waist, about 4 inches above where your pants are. *Do not “suck in”, measure in a relaxed state, then pull the measuring tape tight.
Use this measurement to choose your correct LEATHER WEIGHT belt size.

How do you choose the right lifting belt thickness?
Over time in the weight room most lifters can figure this out by trial and error or the wise council of veteran lifters. If you don’t know what you want or don't have access to different belts please read our belt thickness guide to learn more.
Most of our weight lifting belts, powerlifting belts, lever weight belts, as well as our other lifting belts offer customization, BUT we know there are times what you want isn’t listed or you’re interested in a belt we’ve showcased on our social media.* This is where you start!
The custom Pioneer Hybrid Belt is now born... and it is like a traditional nylon belt and a Pioneer leather belt had a baby. The Hybrid has the ease of use/comfort of a Velcro™ belt, and the support that is similar to a leather belt which is definitely a win-win. The idea behind this belt was to offer a product that is a bit less specific to just powerlifting. This belt is geared toward cross-training, Olympic lifting, general training, and strongman! That said, it can definitely still be used for powerlifting style training, but cannot be used for competition. These are 4" all the way around, and do have an overlap in the front for you to brace against.
