Pioneer Weightlifting Belt Sizing

Weightlifting/Power Lifting Belts are worn well above where you wear your shorts or pants, this means they are worn above the hip bones.

Your pant size is NOT your weight belt size.

To measure for the correct size, use a pliable measuring tape or seamstress tape. Measure around your waist, about 4 inches above where your pants are. *Do not “suck in”, measure in a relaxed state, then pull the measuring tape tight.

Use this measurement to choose your correct LEATHER WEIGHT belt size.

X-Small - 22"- 31"
Small - 27"- 36"
Medium - 31"- 40"
Large - 35"- 44"
X-Large - 39"- 48"
XX-Large - 43"- 52"

Use this measurement to choose your correct NYLON/HYBRID belt size.

How do you choose the right lifting belt thickness?

Over time in the weight room most lifters can figure this out by trial and error or the wise council of veteran lifters. If you don’t know what you want or don't have access to different belts please read our belt thickness guide to learn more.

Most of our weight lifting belts, powerlifting belts, lever weight belts, as well as our other lifting belts offer customization, BUT we know there are times what you want isn’t listed or you’re interested in a belt we’ve showcased on our social media.* This is where you start!

The P-Series belt by Pioneer is no different materially than all of our other belts, but they look even cooler! I really wanted to simplify the order process for a semi-custom for you all that would look awesome, but still allow for some personal touches. The P-Series will allow you to get you exactly the belt make up you want by giving the options to choose your size, thickness, width, and inside suede color. The PIONEER logo will be embossed on the back and the new "P" logo will be engraved on the lever. No other custom options are available. Made right here in the USA at Pioneer HQ.

PAL V2

Pay extra for the PAL V2 it's perfect for the days your a little heavier than normal. This is a great belt.

Worth the money by far the best belt on the market. Takes a little to come in but worth the wait.

The amount of time to receive this belt is outrageous..... I ordered mine before Xmas and still waiting past February.

I have 3 Pioneer belts at this point (I’ve outgrown a few at this point) and they’re the only belts I’ll ever own. They’re such an insanely high quality piece of equipment and the level of customization and customer service is out of this world. The PAL is a great innovation as well, couldn’t imagine living without it

I got the 3” 10mm belt and it’s held up beautifully for the last two years. I also got the first version of the PAL and haven’t had any troubles there, and it’s been awesome to adjust my lever on a consistent basis based off clothes, lift, etc. Cant wait to get my hands on another belt!

I purchased this belt and have been using it for almost a year at his point and I've got to say that I can't recommend it any more strongly to anyone looking for a weightlifting belt. Aesthetically this is a beautiful belt and still looks brand new neither though I use it on a weekly basis. Once it broke in it became a very comfortable belt to wear and the addition of a PAL lever made this the ultimate setup since it's easy to adjust between sets. Most of all the customer service experience I had was great. I mentioned in the notes when I gave my measurements that this was my first belt I purchased and a pioneer rep contacted me in a very timely manner to assist me in ensuring that my measurement would be ideal for me. This is a very professional company and very great product, they'll have my business whenever I need any weightlifting accessories.

Pioneer has the best belts on the market hands down. Expertly made and comfortable to wear right out of the box. I’ve competed in this belt twice now and will never use another brand. If you’re on the fence, just do it!

I ordered a custom anime belt and it came out better than I could have hoped for! This is my fourth Pioneer belt and each time I’m still amazed at how great they are. Couldn’t recommend any more highly.

Like the other reviews, this is a fantastic belt. If you’re on the fence, it’s worth it. The lever offers great adjustability, and the mechanism is sturdy with a satisfying clasping sound. The stitching and craftsmanship is excellent as well. The clasp stays attached even when undone in between sets so you don’t have to worry about it coming off. It’s everything you’d want in a belt. The cherry on top is being able to customize it (and for the same price as the SBD belt).

Belt arrived in two weeks, which is way faster than I expected. Looks and feels top notch, and the PAL is a game changer, since it’s the only option for an adjustable lever on the market besides waiting 9 years for an SBD. Also finer adjustments than the SBD. Size ranges are also very wide so you don’t have to worry about it not fitting.

My first lever style 10 mm belt (I have a 10 mm prong belt from best belts). I really like my prong belt, but wanted to try a lever belt. Pioneer belts has gotten great reviews and this belt lives up to them (its also made in America which is a plus). This is a really nice belt and it seems a little stiffer than my prong belt, but that maybe due to being new. I also got the PAL lever which is really nice to use. I would suggest pioneer to have that as an option when ordering this belt to upgrade the lever to the PAL version rather then having to order it separately. I have there laser engraved lever that came with the belt, but unfortunately will probably never use it since the PAL lever is nice. on hindsight, I should have asked to taper the end of the belt, but I guess that is something to ask for when I decided to get another belt in the future which I definitely would get from pioneer. Thanks for the great belt.

Aesthetically pleasing belt. Only used for one workout session so far. Lever feels sturdy. Glad to have a product made in the USA and from a Texan. I am also glad that I got a Pioneer sticker to stick on my Yeti. Thanks.
