Weightlifting/Power Lifting Belts are worn well above where you wear your shorts or pants, this means they are worn above the hip bones.

Your pant size is NOT your weight belt size.

To measure for the correct size, use a pliable measuring tape or seamstress tape. Measure around your waist, about 4 inches above where your pants are. *Do not “suck in”, measure in a relaxed state, then pull the measuring tape tight.

Use this measurement to choose your correct LEATHER WEIGHT belt size.

Option Details

10mm: This belt is single thick meaning it is constructed of a single piece of sole leather (6mm) with suede sewn on either side (4mm total, 2mm each side) offering a very pliable yet supportive belt. These belts must have stitching and will default to white unless specified otherwise.
13mm: This is a double thick belt meaning it is constructed of two 4.5mm pieces of sole leather (9mm total of leather) cemented, pressed, and sewn together with 2mm suede on either side (4mm total in suede). These belts must have stitching and will default to white unless specified otherwise.
3" Width: 3" belts are geared for those with shorter torsos. They will cover less surface area and can be more comfortable than a 4” belt, especially for those who are…vertically challenged. If the 4” belt hinders your depth in the squat or starting position in the deadlift, then the 3” belt should be perfect for you!
4" Width: 4” belts (or 10cm) is the “standard” or “norm” when it comes to power belts…It is a great starting point for most lifters of average or taller than average height. It covers the most surface area giving you the most support.

The Only Belt I’ll Need for Life!

Absolutely thrilled with my new double suede rust belt!!! The quality is incredibly and you can tell just by holding it in your hands. So happy for making this purchase and excited to lift with confidence! It will be an heirloom for sure!

I just purchased a custom belt. It’s brown leather with my nickname I got from powerlifting and what people call me at gym , “ the bull “ . It has a laser burned bull on back and the words - the bull - on front by my PAL lever . I am beyond happy with how it looks, and even better the leather is pre broken enough to where it feels great right away. There were no sharp spots like most new belts have either at first.

5/5 stars no questions or debate about it. After I write this post I’m ordering the Italian flag belt with adding the bull on it . That’s how pleased I am.

Custom belt had misaligned hole. No response to or acknowledgement of customer service queries after two business days.

Would gladly revise review of this gets resolved.

I used a 13mm Inzer Forever Lever belt for 8 years and was happy with it, but after getting this belt, I don't know if I'll ever use the Inzer again. It's that good.

You can tell it's hand made and the fit and finish is spectacular. Even my mother-in-law, who knows nothing about weightlifting, wanted to play with it because of how nice it looked. The PAL buckle is also wonderful--so much better than other lever designs and wayyy better than prong-style belts.

The sizing is a little tricky to get right, so here are my measurements in case it's useful to anyone else. For reference, I'm 5'10 and 180 lb, and about 10% body fat. My waist is 35 inches around the navel (fully relaxed) and 34.5 inches a little above the navel where I normally wear my lifting belt (the middle point between the bottom of my ribs and the top of my iliac crest, relaxed).

I originally purchased a Medium, but even on the tightest setting it was still a little too loose. I emailed Pioneer to let them know, and they said I could ship it back and have it trimmed to the proper size (I just paid shipping there and back, which was no big deal). They did an outstanding job cutting it to just the right size, so I have an extra 4 holes of adjustment. For reference, the belt is now 34 inches long from end to end and the buckle is right in the middle of the holes.

My old Inzer Forever Lever belt, which fits me very well, has the following measurements:
End-to-end inside length: 35.1 inches.
Screws are attached on the 5th and 6th holes.
Near end of the belt to the far edge of the attachment plate: 6.8 inches
Near end of the belt to the middle of the attachment plate: 5.65 inches
Near end of the belt to the near edge of the attachment plate: 4.8 inches
Far end of the belt to the middle of the attachment plate: 29.5 inches (For comparison, the same measurement on the Medium Pioneer belt is 31.1 inches when placed in the tightest/shortest holes).

Also note that I like to really cinch my belt down, probably tighter than most, so if you have a bit more pudge and like to wear your belt a little looser, a Medium would probably fit you. But if your measurements are anything like mine, I'd go with a Small.

Also, if you're on the fence as to whether you should get a 13 mm or a 10 mm, get the 10 mm. I used a 13 mm for almost a decade and always thought there was no downside, but the 10 mm is noticeably more comfortable and just as supportive. And I can squat and deadlift over 400 lb. I can also roll up my 10 mm belt and fit it in my gym bag, whereas my 13 mm belt is so stiff I have to carry it in my hand to and from the gym (also makes the 10 mm a much better choice when traveling, since you can roll it up tight in your luggage).

Excellent belt, I was very impressed. I don't often get surprise by the quality of things these days, but this belt is incredibly well made, super supportive and worth the price. The lever makes this the easiest on/off/adjust for different lifts.

First off, the belt is beautiful. I went with the gray suede outside, black on the inside, with white stitching and the black closure hardware. Looks immaculate. Feels very well built and provides plenty of support for heavy squat and deadlift. Couldn't be happier!
