Pioneer Weightlifting Belt Sizing
Weightlifting/Power Lifting Belts are worn well above where you wear your shorts or pants, this means they are worn above the hip bones.
Your pant size is NOT your weight belt size.
To measure for the correct size, use a pliable measuring tape or seamstress tape. Measure around your waist, about 4 inches above where your pants are. *Do not “suck in”, measure in a relaxed state, then pull the measuring tape tight.
Use this measurement to choose your correct LEATHER WEIGHT belt size.

How do you choose the right lifting belt thickness?
Over time in the weight room most lifters can figure this out by trial and error or the wise council of veteran lifters. If you don’t know what you want or don't have access to different belts please read our belt thickness guide to learn more.
Most of our weight lifting belts, powerlifting belts, lever weight belts, as well as our other lifting belts offer customization, BUT we know there are times what you want isn’t listed or you’re interested in a belt we’ve showcased on our social media.* This is where you start!
If you are looking for an old school - no frills belt that will last you a lifetime, this is the one for you! The Pioneer Custom Dyed Power Lifting Belt is available with a single prong, double prong or our patented Pioneer Cut 1/2" inch buckle.* These Custom Dyed Power Lifting Belts are 3" or 4" all the way around and your choice of thickness.
These custom dyed power belts are hand dyed using a professional dye in house. They are treated with a conditioner, polish, and sealant to maximize sheen and longevity. They are built using the same 100% Vegetable Tanned Sole Leather that we use on all of our belts. These are what we call the "Sophisticated Belt" on our social media outlets and are an awesome contrast to the embroidered custom belts that we offer.

8.5mm
This belt is single thick meaning it is constructed of a single piece of sole leather (6.5mm) with garment suede sewn on the inside (2mm suede) offering a very pliable yet supportive belt. These belts must have stitching and will default to white unless specified otherwise.
10mm
This is a double thick belt meaning it is constructed of two 4mm pieces of sole leather (8mm total of leather) cemented, pressed, and sewn together with 2mm of suede on the inside. These belts must have stitching and will default to white unless specified otherwise.
13mm
This is a double thick belt meaning it is constructed of two 5.5mm pieces of sole leather (11mm total of leather) cemented, pressed, and sewn together with 2mm of suede on the inside of the belt. These belts must have stitching and will default to white unless specified otherwise.
