Needless to say I started wearing sleeves in my mid 40s after many knee issues and injuries from previous careers (military & LE). Decided to go with a more ridged sleeve and landed on Pioneer. So, I broke a sweat just getting these sum bitches on my legs (I wear a 5x). Then I realized I couldn’t reach down and get my lifting shoes on and my daughter started laughing at me. She asked me if I was getting ready for the old folks home? Teenagers are funny. I would have ran after her but the best you’re going to do with these things on is either squat heavy or waddle quickly like a fat kid at an all you can eat buffet.
So I instead waddled out to the garage with my new level of low self esteem and wonderment of how in the hell am I going to get out of these when I’m done? Then I thought to myself, is this how women feel in spanks?! Respect ladies! Because I don’t feel sexy in these but I am wondering again how am I going to get out of these, do I ask my son or call 911?
Okay, seriously walking around in these suck. But you’ll get used to them. So walking around to get plates sucks but it is what it is. Resting in between sets, if you sit, you can straighten your legs, minimal discomfort or if you bend them, it’ll suck but you get used to it. My squat felt good, it usually does, it winter out here in Nor Cal so mid 40s in garage. These keep my knees warm and stable. My top set was 405 for 5, felt good out of the hole, usually if my knees are going to bug me it’s here as a sticking point and I grind out of it. Then I’m feeling them the rest of the day.
This far, highly recommend. I’m sure they’ll get easier to put on and off the more I use them. I don’t want to take them with on vacation and have to ask a stranger to help me with them. But at first, they feel like torture devices! But get over it. They’re great. Love em!
