How do I know what size baseball belt to order?

Our most frequently asked question since the release of our baseball belt line is how to pick the right size for one of our baseball or softball belts. We have found that the sports world is accustomed to ordering everything by sizes like small, medium, large, and so on, or getting an adjustable elastic belt that is one-sizes-fits-all. While we have ventured into elastic baseball belts and will offer them on our website soon, a custom leather baseball belt does not easily fit into the classic small, medium, or large categories and is definitely not one-size-fits-all. So how do you choose the right size for your Pioneer baseball belt or a belt you are ordering for a child, friend, or loved one? We break it down below!

Sizing by pant size

There are a few different ways to go about the sizing process, the easiest being the use of the person's current pant waist size. For example, if the belt wearer has a jean size of 32" waist x 34" length (32x34) you can simply order a belt that is size 32. We have a proven method for sizing belts according to pant size that will land the wearer around the center of the holes in the belt allowing them to go up or down in tightness as necessary. Additionally, our patented staggered hole design, known as the Pioneer Cut, gives even more flexibility for getting the best fit.

Sizing by waist measurement

If you or the person wearing the belt are unsure of the waist size or want a custom fit, a seamstress tape can be used. An advantage of being the manufacturer of the belts we sell is that we can make belts to any custom size you desire, including half inches. To order by waist measurement:

  1. Wrap seamstress tape around your waist, over your pants, but not your shirt. Make sure to wrap the tape around the waist at the height the pants will be worn.

  2. Pull the seamstress tape snug to get a good measurement.

  3. Enter the measurement as waist size or center hole in the order notes at checkout (for example: 32 waist or 32 center).

*Pro Tip: Don’t be afraid to order half sizes (ex: 33.5). We’ve done plenty of these for the pros and little leaguers alike.
